Verizon “map” commercials feel desperate

The first time I saw a Verizon 3G coverage map commercial, I thought it was pretty sharp and bold… but that was months ago.
Today, Verizon continues to put out new commercials that basically say nothing new whatsoever. They just keep making the same point over and over and over again… THE MAP. That’s it.
It reminds me of two school yard kids arguing.
KID #1 (Verizon) – “Your shoes have holes in them! haha!”
KID #2 (AT&T) – “Your mom slept with the lawn boy”
KID #1 (Verizon) – “Your shoes have holes in them! haha!”
KID #2 (AT&T) – “All the girls at school call you butt head”
KID #1 (Verizon) – “Your shoes have holes in them! haha!”
KID #2 (AT&T) – “You’ve failed 4th grade twice”
KID #1 (Verizon) – “Your shoes have holes in them! haha!”
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Verizon isn’t as good as AT&T… not at all… but where AT&T is pointing out different things like “We cover more americans”, and “We have faster 3G” and “You can talk and surf the web on our 3G”… Verizon just keeps showing that rather pointless map over and over and over and over and over and over and over again… and quite frankly it seems really desperate.
Dear Verizon: I’m sick to death of your map commercials. Tell me something new or just shut up. Thank you.

AT&T apparently has the Wilson brothers on stand-by, which you have admit is a bit of a coup. Good ol’ Luke shows up, does his cute & mumbly thing, and Verizon is yesterday’s news.

I think Verizon keeps pushing that point because it touched a nerve with AT&T. Their point is that now matter how much cool stuff AT&T can do with their phones none of it matters if you can’t connect to the internet due to spotty service. But I agree with you though John, Verizon has made their point, strong enough for AT&T to bring in the big guns of Luke Wilson to have to fire back, so now it’s time to make a different point.

Yea Eric gets it, its sad on AT&Ts part because all verizon has to say is you guys cant cover any where near what we can in 3G and AT&T just comes up with excuses like yea we cant cover you with 3G almost anywhere but it the tiny little areas we can cover you we can give you talk and surfing the web at the same time, and they have that map commercial were he covers the US in postcards but he never says its 3G coverage so he’s saying heres where we can get you one bar or more. I have a verizon droid and my girlfriend has an AT&T Iphone, I play games on her iphone but she calls people on my verizon droid. and its just which one means more to you. Because Verizon kicks ass but lacks the amazingness of over 100,000 applications and the popularity of the iphone and once verizon gets it, AT&T will go under because they can’t cover shit.
