Joe Clark Stepping Down Opens

Joe Clark Stepping Down Opens Door Of Oppertunity For Canada
Ok, here’s the deal. I am liberal. I’ve voted Liberal ever since I was leagally allowed to vote. In the last election, I only voted Liberal because of the lack of any viable alternative to the Liberal Government. With Joe Clark stepping down as leader of the PC party there is a new chance for the PC and Alliance to merge the “right” and pose some sort of threat to the Liberals. The ONLY way there isn’t going to be an easy Liberal majority in the next election is if the 2 parties merge and elect Mike Harris (who still has tons of popularity on Ontario) as it’s new leader. If this happens, there could be a real race for the leadership of our country. The only thing that would snag this whole idea is if Jean Chrétien is removed as the Liberal leader and Paul Martin replaces him… at that point no merger in the world could prevent another land slide Liberal majority government.
